Hand-drawn British bird art inspired by the quiet intelligence of corvids...
Corvids - including crows, ravens, rooks, and jackdaws - have long held a special place in folklore and symbolism. This collection brings together my hand-drawn corvid art, inspired by their intelligence, presence, and quiet watchfulness in the landscape...
Corvids art collectionThere’s something different about corvids...
They’re not bright like finches, or fleeting like small garden birds - they stay, they watch, they seem to notice things.
Raven, crow, rook, jackdaw, magpie - each one carries its own character, but all share a quiet intelligence and a sense of awareness that’s hard to ignore once you’ve seen it.
This collection grew from those moments of noticing - a bird perched nearby, a pause in movement, a sense that you’re being observed just as much as you are observing...
Raven - a watchful presenceEach piece in this collection has been carefully drawn by hand using pen and coloured pencil, building up layers of tone and detail to reflect the subtle textures of feathers and light.
Rather than dramatic action, these illustrations focus on stillness, presence - those small, easily missed moments when we catch a glimpse into the world of the corvid...
My rook drawing
RavenDeep, dark, and quietly powerful - the raven is a bird that feels almost ancient in its presence.

RookA bird of fields and community - the rook is steady, social, and deeply connected to place.
CrowFamiliar yet often overlooked - the crow is a grounded, intelligent presence in the everyday landscape.
JackdawSmaller, curious, and bright-eyed - the jackdaw is a gentle and watchful member of the corvid family.
MagpieBold, watchful, and unmistakable - the magpie is captured here among crab apples in a moment of stillness.
Magpie art on display in my country kitchenThese pieces are designed to sit quietly within a space - not demanding attention - but holding it...
They work beautifully in:
Corvids are part of our daily landscape - often overlooked, often misunderstood.
But once you begin to notice them - really notice - they’re impossible to ignore.
