Wildlife Art Inspired by Nature

By Lotti Brown

Wildlife art inspired by nature...

Wildlife often appears in brief, fleeting moments - a sudden movement in the grass, a shape at the edge of the field, a presence felt before it is fully seen.

This collection brings together my wildlife art, inspired by those encounters - from careful observation in the landscape around my home in Yorkshire, to more symbolic and imaginative interpretations shaped by folklore and story.

Some pieces are rooted in real moments - glimpses of animals moving through the seasons - while others draw on older traditions, where creatures take on a deeper meaning and presence.

You can explore the collections below, and follow the subjects that draw you in...

Celtic stag art by Lotti BrownCeltic stag art

This collection of wildlife art includes hand-drawn animal illustrations, from British wildlife such as hares to Celtic-inspired nature and symbolic creatures...

Hare

The hare is a creature of movement and energy - glimpsed in the open fields of East Yorkshire, running low across the land or pausing, alert, before disappearing again.

These pieces are inspired by those encounters, and by the hare’s long association with folklore, seasonality, and the rhythms of the natural world.

Wildlife

A collection of wildlife studies of British wildlife, drawn from quiet observation - moments of stillness, movement, and presence in the landscape.

These pieces reflect encounters with animals as they appear - often briefly - and the small details that make those moments memorable...

Celtic Wildlife & Nature

Some pieces explore a more symbolic side of nature - drawing on Celtic and medieval influences, where animals and natural forms carry deeper meaning and story.

Here, observation and imagination meet, creating a more interpretive response to the natural world (here be dragons, too!).
