'Hogs & Kisses' Anniversary Card SVG Template

I designed this cute hedgehogs 'Hogs & Kisses' card template as an anniversary card for my husband - we'd just seen a sweet little hedgehog snuffling in our garden and I thought it was a cute way to remember this nice experience together - I also thought it would make a lovely anniversary card SVG template...

But not just for anniversaries - for Valentines, birthdays, husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, but also just to send love and show you care in a non-romantic sense, as well as a romantic sense, depending on the intended recipient and occasion.

Crafting the hedgehogs card is easy - it works on the same basic template as most of the other cards in my papercut card collection here...

The template includes the envelope - and you will need three A4 or Letter-sized sheets of cardstock to make the card and envelope. The finished card is around 12 x 12 cm (or 4.75 by 4.75 inches).

The card cuts from flat cardstock on the standard Cricut mat (not the specialist card mat) - and requires score lines to help you fold it correctly. The score lines are already in place on the template. You will just need to take a couple of easy actions in Cricut Design Space to set the lines to score (rather than cut) - this is all set out for you step by step on this page... (you will get a PDF with a link to these instructions whith the template).

The instructions are for Cricut users, but if you're using another type of cutting machine, you may also find it very helpful so that you know which steps need to be taken on your own machine. The page also covers choosing a scoring tool (for Cricut) plus scoring manually if you don't have, or choose not to use, your cutting machine to score.

As you can see, above and below, the template for the 'Hogs & Kisses' anniversary card template has an orange outer card, a white inner card, and an envelope in a softer orange. You can, of course, make the card in any colour you want...

Cute hedgehogs papercut anniversary card template - 'Hogs & Kisses'

I thought orange was a nice colour for the card as it reminded me of Fall/autumnal colours - the kind of colours that I do always associate with hedgehogs, autumn, and fallen leaves.

It's also a nice colour to use for an anniversary card for a husband or boyfriend (where they're perhaps not so keen on cards being pink and 'mushy') - or if you want to send the card in a non-romantic sense.

If I really wanted to romance it up, I could use creams and pinks - or if I wanted to send it as a Valentine's Day card, I'd use red as one of the main colours, for sure!

My alternative colour idea for the card is in quite similar autumnal colours (see below) - this time, it's in a nice beige/tan colour that still reminds me of that Fall time of year, but also it's just quite natural and neutral. I've paired it with a green envelope (with a yellow/orange inner - more about that in a minute). In fact, I did almost make this alternative version in green - I think it would look lovely, and also a bit bolder and brighter than the two tan and orange ideas that I made for this page.

I made both the cards using:

• Cricut cardstock (from 'Jewel' pack) for the orange card - cut with 'Cardstock for intricate cuts' setting

• Sizzix 'Surfacez' textured cardstock for the beige/tan card - cut with 'Cardstock for intricate cuts' setting

• Eastlight Premium white cardstock (160 gsm) for the white inner card for both cards - cut with the 'Light cardstock' setting

• Craft Sensations DesignPad Pastels for the soft orange envelope - cut with 'Medium cardstock' setting 

• Craft Sensations Ombre Designs Pastels for the green envelope with yellow/orange interior - cut with 'Medium cardstock' setting - this is an 'ombre' effect coloured cardstock with a different gradient colour on each side and a white core
