Gardening Birthday Card SVG Template

I designed this birthday card template especially for the gardener in your life - because gardeners love to receive cards that show you've thought about what they're passionate about - and even better if it's handmade!

My gardener birthday card template looks modern but with a simple, classic feel - and it's suitable for both men and women - so perfect for those husbands, fathers, brothers, uncles, who it's so difficult to find a nice birthday card for - if they're a keen gardener, then you're sorted!

My gardener birthday card template is easy to make with a Cricut or similar cutting machine - if you don't have a cutting machine, you can print out the PNG file and use it as a template to cut by hand with a craft knife.

The card template uses the standard Cricut mat (not the specialist card mat) and uses three A4 or Letter-sized sheets of cardstock which cut flat and are then scored along the fold lines using your cutting machine's scoring tool - or if you don't have one, you can score by hand...

You can find a discussion about Cricut scoring tools, tips for scoring by hand, plus full instructions for exactly how to set the card template up in Cricut Design Space so that all the lines score correctly - all on this page - I also recommend reading this page if you're using another type of cutting machine, as it will likely still help you to set the scoring up correctly on your own machine.

Gardening birthday card template with envelope included - SVG, DXF, EPS, PNG

When you use the SVG as-is in Cricut Design Space, you'll make a finished card that's approximately 12 x 12 cm (around 4.75 4.75 inches) with an envelope that's just a little bit larger.

Choosing Colours for your Gardener Birthday Card

I created the template for the gardening birthday card SVG file in a cheerful yellow with a black/dark brown inner card and a warm orange envelope...

I think this colour combination looks lovely and cheerful - full of sunshine! It's quite a contemporary look, too...

I also created an alternative colour combination for the gardening card template - it's in a lovely green, with a simple white inner card and a teal blue envelope...

How green does your garden grow? Gardening birthday card SVG template

Green is a fantastic colour for a gardening card - the colour of plants and new growth - it really suits the gardening theme. A simple white inner card sets the design off well and a teal envelope gives another bold splash of colour.

If you wanted a more subtle look, you could go with a plain envelope or a rustic brown paper envelope that would give a really nice 'earthy' feel that's perfect for the gardening theme!

Otherwise, choose colours that you think your recipient will love - I've gone quite bright, but you could certainly go for softer or more neutral colours and save the splash of green for the inner card! Get creative and have some fun with it!

The cards you see on this page, I made using my Cricut Maker and:

• Sizzix 'Surfacez' textured cardstock for both of the outer cards - cut using the 'Cardstock for intricate cuts' setting in Cricut Design Space

• Clairefontaine 'Trophee' black cardstock (160 gsm) for the inner card (part of the yellow card) - cut using the 'Light cardstock' setting

• Eastlight Premium smooth white cardstock (160 gsm) for the inner card (part of the green card) - cut using the 'Light cardstock' setting

• 'Dovecraft' Essentials Colours Paper Pack craft paper (120gsm) for both envelopes (reverse of each sheet is white) - cut using the 'Copy paper' setting
