My medieval and Celtic dragon artworks - plus a deep, deep dive into a fascinating cavern of dragon myth, magic, meaning and symbolism...
Dragons are special to us. We love our dragons. I, especially, love dragons…
Many years ago, in the early- to mid-2000s, I used to spend all my free time drawing dragons. I drew them on paper, on T-shirts, and even on two of my husband’s guitars!
And I wanted to start a business where I got to draw dragons all day!
Fast forward fifteen years or so, and I’m drawing dragons for a new collection of artworks for my art business – and getting a little over-excited delving deep into the myth, meaning and symbolism of dragons to understand our relationship with dragons better…
Don’t you think it’s strange that even though we’ve never seen a dragon, we all know what a dragon looks like and how it behaves!
Dragons are a part of our lives, our history, and our culture. Amazingly, dragons appear throughout history and across many different cultures – dragon meaning and symbolism can sometimes differ or even encompass multiple meanings.
So let’s start exploring the wonderful and fearsome world of dragons…
